In 2.15 (Murdoc + Handcuffs) Helman obviously becomes aware of Mac and Jack. And he notices Murdoc's obsession with Mac. Possibly, between appearances he does a little homework about the agents. 3.18 (Murdoc + Helman + Hit) Helman is now behind bars. His curiosity about his proteges obsession with the agent leads him to request a chance to talk to Mac. [Maybe he says he'll give them some info, but only too Mac?] Regardless, how does their conversation go and what does Helman think after actually meeting Mac and speaking with him?
(Bonus if even Helman is considered by the level of Murdoc's obsession, and genuinely tries to help Mac. Even if it doesn't come across that way.)
